You can check out one of the PlayStation 5’s most underrated games of 2026 at no extra cost right now. As one Reddit user says, “you won’t be sorry”.
The year 2026 has already blessed us with a plethora of bangers, with what is potentially shaping up to be one of the best years for video game releases in a long time. Well, at least since the stellar 2023.
In 2023, we were blessed with the likes of Baldur’s Gate 3, the Resident Evil 4 remake, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and many more. That year was so good, in fact, that the likes of Lies of P had flown under many gamers' radars.
As for 2026, well, it's been a stellar year in its own right, treating us to Pokémon Pokopia, Forza Horizon 6, and Resident Evil Requiem, to name a few. However, due to the delightful treats this year has thrown our way, underrated titles such as Saros may likely have been missed by many.
Advert
Well, when I say underrated, as reflected by its 87 Metacritic score, Saros scored very favourably. That being said, the bullet-hell shooter developed by Housemarque may have underperformed in terms of sales, with a reported 300,000 copies sold within its first two weeks of launch, which isn't massive for a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
Yet, as we all know, the amount of unit sales isn't necessarily reflective of a game's quality. Sometimes, it’s just the way the cookie crumbles. Is Saros deserving of more sales? Perhaps, but if you’re a PlayStation Plus Premium subscriber who’s been on the fence about this game, you can check it out right now at no extra cost.

“2.5-hour Premium Trial up for Saros. Give it a go, you won't be sorry,” recommended Reddit user MikeRyan8.
“Been wanting to try this. Perfect, thanks,” replied RayDeezNutz.
“Thanks for the heads up,” said ramsfan_86.
“Great game! I bought it and am loving it,” declared Qwerty5070.
“Just a reminder for those who pause their games and let their consoles go to sleep (like me),” warned Rominator. “This action will finish your demo. I’ve missed out on most of the demos I’ve tried because this behaviour is so ingrained in me, and I get a lot of interruptions.”
All your save data, including any trophies that you have earned, will carry over into the full game. So you won't have to worry about starting back from the very beginning if you purchase it.
“We’ve been spoiled with what could be the best year for gaming since 2023, and now Saros is the latest banger of 2026,” we said in our review, scoring it 9/10.
“It plays like a dream, has a fun gameplay loop, looks stunning, has a superb voice cast and a mysterious story that will keep you hooked from start to finish. Saros is a game that I can’t stop thinking about, and it’s so good that it’s made me want to give Returnal another chance. We’ve said this a lot already this year, but Saros is yet another strong game of the year contender.”
Saros is out now exclusively on the PlayStation 5.
