MrBeast purchased an entire neighbourhood for his staff to live in

MrBeast is known for seemingly having a bottomless pit of cash, but this latest purchase may just be the wildest of all. You’ve heard of employee perks, well, MrBeast has purchased an entire neighbourhood for his employees to live in.

If you live in Greenville, North Carolina, you may soon notice an influx of new dwellers seeing as MrBeast, real name Jimmy Donaldson, is slowly buying up the neighbourhood to house his employees. It’s hard to pinpoint exactly what MrBeast is. He’s undeniably an entertainer. In part, many of his efforts are philanthropic but MrBeast’s sense of charity is also very public and profile boosting, so he’s a figure that splits opinion. In his latest video, MrBeast helped ‘1,000 deaf people hear sound for the first time,’ but drew criticism for his presentation of the project.

Even Elon Musk got involved in the whole debacle. Other recent stunts include gifting a car to a waitress, and gifting 20,000 children in Africa their first pair of shoes. As reported by the New York Post, MrBeast is now turning his generous efforts to his own workforce. The YouTuber has already snapped up five homes in Greenville, located on the same street.

It’s believed that most of these were off-market sales, with MrBeast spending an estimated $2 million so far. The Post adds that MrBeast purchased his own home on the street in 2018 for around $320,000. In 2020, he then added a second property for $263,000. A further three were snapped up recently for a total of $1.45 million. That leaves one further house on this particular street but the residents living there apparently don’t wish to move until their kids have finished school.

MrBeast wouldn’t be the first rich guy to snap up a whole town. Speaking of Elon Musk, the controversial figure owns the town of Boca Chica in Texas, located near to the SpaceX Starship launchpad.
