In another effort to introduce bullying to video games, one player has succeeded on an 89-hit combo that probably left their opponent in tears.

Released earlier this month, Mortal Kombat 1 is the twelfth instalment in the Mortal Kombat series (it doesn’t make sense to me either). In this title, the fighting game offers players the chance to experiment with the new Kameo system which allows you to call in other characters to perform an action. The system introduces brand-new ways to beat your opponent including “juggling” them with a series of combo attacks.

With this dangerous knowledge, one player took the ability and ran with it. The person in question is Jarrad "NinjaKilla212" Gooden, a professional Mortal Kombat player who recently took to Twitter to share a video of them succeeding an 89-hit combo with Shang Tsung. The video is almost one minute long and shows Tsung repeatedly juggling Baraka in the air with Ground Skulls fireball. Then to add insult to injury, NinjaKilla calls in Scorpion for a bit more damage. “Your opponent hits you with this in a tournament, what you doing?” the professional player asked.

For those wishing to follow in his footsteps, be aware that an 89-hit combo is not achievable for every player, especially those who play casually. This feat comes courtesy of playing the game professionally, but it would be fun to try anyway. Since its release, Mortal Kombat 1 has been praised for its new Kameo system, fluid combat and improving on its tried and tested method. As a result, it currently sits at a “mostly positive” rating on Steam.

However, the game has recently come under fire for its less than acceptable visuals on the Nintendo Switch port. Featuring low quality characters with eyes popping out of sockets, it is a horrifying site for those who planned to play on the go. Despite this, Mortal Kombat 1 for the Switch is still priced at $70, the same as it is for other platforms.
