Following the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman in 2020, the past few years have been full of discussions as to who could follow in his footsteps as the iconic Black Panther.

However, MCU fans believe that they may have finally found the “perfect” person courtesy of a new photoshoot of a much-loved actor.

Check out a trailer for Black Panther below!

Black Panther arrived in cinemas back in 2018 and saw Boseman take on the role of T’Challa, or Black Panther, who returns home to Wakanda after inheriting its throne.

However, when a powerful enemy threatens both him and his nation, he must team up with his people to protect it.

The film was met with critical success and viewers praised Boseman’s incredible performance as the titular character.

However, after Boseman’s death almost four years ago, he has left some pretty big shoes to fill.

That is why it is a shock to finally see fans believe they have found the perfect new Black Panther and that is John Boyega.

Best known for his role as Finn in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, British actor Boyega originally shot to fame after his lead role in 2011’s Attack the Block.

Now a few years on and Boyega was recently spotted posing for the 2025 Pirelli Calendar and its behind-the-scenes shots soon summoned the MCU fans.

“Wouldn’t be mad if he played T’Challa’s son in a timeskip,” one person commented.

“I second. Third. Fourth and fifth this!!!” Another agreed.

“They don't need to do a timeskip. They can just age him up with the Gods of Wakanda or cast John Boyega as a variant King T'Challa,” another offered.

It is a busy few years for the Marvel franchise with multiple projects in the works.

From Captain America: Brave New World in February 2025 to Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027 and with multiple shows and spin-offs in between, it is an exciting time to be a fan.
