Can you believe that it’s been 20 years since Remedy Entertainment’s Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne was released? Yes, two whole decades. Let that sink in.

Set two years after the events of the first game, Max Payne 2 saw the titular character team up with contract killer Mona Sax to get to the bottom of a twisting new conspiracy. Earlier this year, it was once again confirmed that new-gen remakes are planned for both Max Payne entries. The only issue is that both remakes remain in their concept phase, which means they’re in pre-production so don’t expect to see either for many years. In fact, it’ll probably be several years before we even see a trailer. In the meantime though, fans have taken matters into their own hands creating a Max Payne 2 Remake concept trailer, and the results are incredible.

The Max Payne 2 concept trailer is the work of well-known duo TeaserPlay. Describing the project, they wrote, “In our new video, we tried to show what the gamers expect from the Max Payne 2 Remake in general in Unreal Engine 5. [The] Max Payne remake was officially announced a few months ago. We tried to provide an overview picture of the gameplay and possible graphics using Unreal Engine 5, and clear the expectations of the fans from the final version.”

They continued, “We used Metahuman to design Max Payne's face and tried to get inspiration from the face of James McCaffrey, the voice actor of Max Payne. It is still not clear what face design the final version will have.” Needless to say, fans were endlessly impressed.

“Your work is impressive. I am truly inspired by this [and] I can see the love you put into it. Nice work for including the shooting mechanics,” one viewer wrote, while another added, “Bro, this looks amazing. I can’t wait for it to come out.” Someone else added, “Very good work indeed.” It’s definitely worth checking out.
