Massive new Skyrim fan expansion inspired by Mass Effect has 9,000 new lines of dialogue

Massive new Skyrim fan expansion inspired by Mass Effect has 9,000 new lines of dialogue

Ever wondered what a Skyrim and Mass Effect crossover would look like? This incredible new fan-made expansion mod has you covered.

The Elder Scrolls VI is years away from release, and yet Bethesda boss Todd Howard is teasing us about the game’s opening scene. It’s a good job that Skyrim has got so much incredible mod content to tide us over. Fans are just as passionate about modding Skyrim as they were when the title was released 11 years ago.

One incredible fan-made expansion adds six new islands to the game - and is essentially the size of a DLC. Another player recently ran 600 mods at once. I’m not sure my PC could handle such a feat but the end result is stunning. It’s no surprise that Bethesda are confident that we’ll be playing Skyrim into the next decade. This latest fan expansion proves why. Hint: It’s another whopper.

Take a look at some of our favourite Skyrim wins and fails below.

As reported by DSOGaming, modder TheBawb has released an incredible DLC-sized mod for Skyrim Special Edition inspired by both Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Titled Warden of the Coast, the mod includes over 9,000 lines of “skillfully voiced dialogue,” 9 BioWare-style companions with loyalty quests, a three-companion exploration system, 7 romance questlines, a player choice-driven story with five primary endings, two new world spaces, and 19 new interiors.

That sure does sound a lot like the Mass Effect trilogy. Describing the mod, TheBawb wrote, “Players will travel to an isolated island, earn the loyalty of your nine companions, stop a daedric lord from returning to power, and close shut the jaws of Oblivion once more.” It’s estimated that the fan-made DLC will take between 10 and 15 hours to complete. I need to give this a whirl. Did I mention it’s free to download?

Speaking of Mass Effect, the trilogy is currently free for all PlayStation Plus subscribers to download so head on over and grab it before the month is out. I hope you fare better than I did in the love department though. It’s a tragic tale.
