Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 narrative director teases that it’s Insomniac’s best game yet.

At this time, despite knowing that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is on the way after its reveal during a PlayStation Showcase in 2021, we’re still yet to see actual gameplay.

All we’ve been treated to is a cinematic trailer featuring Peter Parker and Miles Morales about to do battle with arch-nemesis Venom, voiced by horror legend, Tony Todd. Granted, it’s an amazing cinematic trailer, but come on Insomniac, show us some gameplay, already. Please.

Speaking of Tony Todd, the Venom voice actor seemingly revealed a September release window for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 back in March 2023, which was later collaborated with respected journalist, Jason Schreier.

In regards to when the sequel might arrive, all we know officially is that it will be released by the end of this year. However, if we weren't already excited enough for its release, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 narrative director Jon Paquette has teased that Insomniac Games is working hard to ensure that this is the best game ever from the popular studio.

A clip was first posted on Twitter, before making its way into a Reddit forum. The clip in question was taken from a recent Twitch stream courtesy of Insomniac Games.

“Boy am I excited about Spider-Man 2,” said Paquette. “There's obviously not much I can say, but boy, are we really working' hard to try and make sure that this is the best game we've ever made and we can't wait to share it with y'all.”

Fans in the Reddit thread were sharing their excitement for the upcoming sequel in response to this clip circulating social media.

“I'm still stunned at how good the first game was. That was a better Spider-Man story than most of the movies and cartoon shows,” exclaimed Zed_NotZee. “If the new one is half as good as the first, I'm gonna be a happy boy.”

The more grounded Redditor, ElJacko170 added: “I mean obviously any developer is trying to make the best game they've ever made before, but it's still exciting considering Insomniac's history.”

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will release later this year for PlayStation 5. Furthermore, Insomniac Games is also working on Marvel’s Wolverine, which currently has no release date.
