Marvel's Spider-Man 2 devs seemingly tease Daredevil video game

Could we be getting a Marvel's Daredevil game from Insomniac?

In what has been an incredible year for video game releases, even the likes of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has some strong contenders for the prestigious 2023 Game of the Year accolade.

Developed by Insomniac Games, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 delivers just about every we’d want in a sequel. It improves the gameplay, it looks even nicer and we have a larger map of New York City to freely explore. Oh, and we can also switch on the fly between both Peter Parker and Miles Morales.

What’s more, Insomniac Games, the developer of the Ratchet & Clank series, also has Marvel’s Wolverine on the way and is said to be set in the same universe as the Spider-Man sequel. However, not content with developing a game based on everyone’s favourite mutant named Logan, it seems that Insomniac may have a Daredevil game on the way too. This is also in addition to the rumours of a spin-off Venom title.

In a Reddit post shared by user Amori17, they spotted a reference to ‘The Hand’, a criminal ninja clan and also arch nemesis of Daredevil and The Punisher. The Redditor stumbled across a TikTok video by ‘a_gamer_thats_cool’ who discovered a room with multiple references to The Hand.

Furthermore, the Redditor mentions that Insomniac creative director Bryan Intihar has apparently teased Daredevil-related content after an interviewer pointed out that the Devil of Hell's Kitchen’s law firm ‘Nelson & Murdock’, was removed from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This law firm was referenced in the original Spidey game in 2018 from Insomniac.

Obviously, at this point in time, all talk of a Daredevil game or even DLC is mere hearsay, so we should take this gossip with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. That being said, I think a standalone Daredevil game would be a welcomed addition for Marvel fans.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is out now on PlayStation 5.
