Marvel is currently teasing a brand-new R-rated series that is due to launch today. It marks a new stage in the Marvel Zombies universe with the virus spreading from an unlikely host.

While the Marvel Zombies franchise is getting ready to jump back onto our TV screens in the next season of ‘What If?’ it makes sense for them to come shambling back to the comics too.

According to a recent teaser, Marvel is bringing back the dead heroes walking with a new series called Marvel Zombies: Dawn of Decay and the cause of the zombie outbreak starts with none other than dear old Groot.

The miniseries starts today with the creators, Thomas Krajewski, Jason Muhr, Rachelle Rosenberg, and Travis Lanham.

The series will feature The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, well, two members from the teams, as they try to save the Marvel Universe.

To be honest, this series sounds like it’ll be a blast. It all starts with Groot talking to Captain America, trying to tell him something important, but of course, all he can say is his usual “I am Groot.”

Groot then happens to sneeze out some gross green spores and then many panels go past with Cap turning into a zombie.

All that’s left are Groot and The Incredible Hulk, both of who have impervious skin, to save everyone else.

If you’re looking for something a bit silly and a little gory to tide you over until the new season of ‘What If?’ then you can find the first issue of Marvel Zombies: Dawn of Decay on shelves today.

It’s expected to only last a few issues, but these over-the-top adventures are always worth exploring and enjoying as they’re action-packed and come with a few laughs.

Add it to your pull list and get reading.
