A first look at Marvel Games’ Project Comet has seemingly been unveiled, an upcoming free-to-play title surely hoping to follow in the very successful footsteps of Marvel Rivals.
NetEase is the company behind Marvel Rivals whereas Project Comet looks to be the work of Scopely, which has worked on the likes of Pokémon Go, Stumble Guys, Star Trek Fleet Command, Monster Hunter Now, and Pikmin Bloom.
Admittedly, Project Comet looks to be a very different beast compared to Marvel Rivals beyond simply just being in development at another studio.
Whereas Marvel Rivals is a hero shooter, Project Comet is being described as an open-world action RPG with a trailer reportedly having now surfaced online.

The alleged trailer originated on Chinese social media site bilibili, with a reshare by Twitter/X user SargeOP_ gaining traction.
Marvel Games’ Project Comet will supposedly support four-player co-op
In the trailer, Project Comet describes itself as a “next-gen mobile ARPG”.
We see several sprawling locations and characters like Scarlet Witch, Doctor Strange, Wolverine, War Machine, Black Widow, and more.
The game promises to include “amazing Marvel environments to explore”, “authentic superhero powers”, and an “intense combat experience”.
The game offers four-player co-op and while the exact nature of the title’s missions are yet to be confirmed, the alleged trailer clearly shows that you’ll fend off your fair share of villains.
While this trailer only makes reference to Project Comet as a mobile game, it does appear that this title is coming to PC too.
As SargeOP_ points out, Scopely previously hired a senior director of community for a AAA “unannounced and groundbreaking title” that belonged to a popular IP.
It later referred to that game as a “cross-platform, new F2P open-world adventure title with world class IP”.
“This role requires someone who can bring together the art and science of the modern day mobile and PC games community,” the job listing said.
What is peculiar about this ‘reveal’ is that no one quite knows where the trailer came from; it looks to be a leak more so than a reveal.
It’s with that in mind that we’d urge you to take everything with a pinch of salt for now, but don’t be surprised if Scopely surfaces soon with a legitimate update in response.

The response to the Project Comet trailer, regardless, is positive on the whole, albeit tentatively so.
“This seems like the second coming of Marvel Future Revolution, but it looks like Rivals and I’m not sure whether I mean this in a good way or bad way,” said one Twitter/X user.
“If it can scratch the Marvel Heroes itch, I’m down,” added another.
“Is this Marvel’s Genshin?” someone commented.
I’d imagine Marvel Games would quite like its own answer to the wildly successful Genshin Impact but for now, it awaits to be seen whether Project Comet is capable of being that.
