In Deadpool & Wolverine, it was said there’s only one Blade, and there’s only ever going to be one Blade, but that was obviously a lie.

It’s already been confirmed that Blade will be getting his own video game adaptation, as well as an MCU reboot starring Mahershala Ali, but now the vampire-slayer is making another appearance in the upcoming Marvel game, Marvel Rivals.

Blade will be starring alongside his fellow Midnight Sun, Moon Knight.

Marvel Rivals is basically Overwatch but with better characters, and first-impressions of the game are hailing it as the most consumer-friendly hero shooter yet as well as praising the gameplay.

With over 30 heroes at launch and more on the way through free DLC, it’s no wonder fans are excited for the game’s launch tomorrow, even more so now that Blade is joining the roster.

A leaked character model appeared online showing Blade in all of his glory, and while it’s unclear what he’ll be like in gameplay, fans have a few things to say about his design.

“One of the weakest designs in the game imo, doesn’t really look like Blade,” said one fan, with another saying the design team should have “gone with the Arkane Studio's design” instead.

“Very torn on this. On one hand I’m not a big fan of the design (probably the weakest of the bunch so far), but on the other hand I’ll take any modern Blade that isn’t too glued to the Wesley Snipes version.”

While I’m personally not keen on the design either, I don’t think we have anything to worry about. There was a similar reaction to Wolverine’s design in the game and that’s quickly been remedied with the Deadpool & Wolverine alternate costume for the character.

If players really don’t like the way Blade looks in the game, there’ll surely be other cosmetic options to choose from, the only caveat being you’ll probably have to pay for them.
