Earlier this month, it was revealed that Tencent Games is partnering with Logitech G to produce a whole new handheld console, which is currently set to hit shelves later this year. Interestingly, the thing that’ll set the console apart from its competition is the fact that it’ll be focused on cloud gaming - something which you wouldn’t think would be the best match for a portable console which you can take out and about with you, but let’s roll with it.
Valve's handheld PC, the Steam Deck, is definitely going to be competition for the Logitech handheld - take a look below.
“As one of the leading global platforms for game development, publishing and operations, Tencent Games has been at the forefront of innovation and it’s why we partnered with them,” Logitech G’s general manager, Ujesh Desai wrote in a press release at the time. “As someone that grew up playing video games, the idea of being able to stream and play AAA games almost anywhere is super exciting, and we can’t wait to show everyone what we’ve been working on.”

When the handheld was announced, despite its super nearby release date, no images of it were revealed. Now though, as GameSpot reports, it appears that the first pictures have surfaced online, and if they’re real, this thing looks incredibly similar to the Nintendo Switch. Comparisons between the two were inevitable, but the off-set analog sticks, button placement, and overall size screams “we have a Switch at home”. Even the UI, with apps shown in square panes along the middle of the screen, definitely seems to have taken inspiration from Nintendo’s console.
These images haven’t been confirmed to be real just yet, so do take them with a pinch of salt for now, but given that the console is supposed to be releasing before the end of December, it shouldn’t be too long until we get a proper look.
