Developing a game with a map size comparable to “the size of the earth” is pretty extreme but it seems as though that is what the makers of No Man’s Sky have planned in a future release.
Best known for creating the hit action-adventure survival game No Man’s Sky, it seems as though developer Hello Games has turned its attention to the future.
First announced back in 2023 alongside a teaser trailer, the creators of No Man’s Sky announced that its next project would be another open-world survival game but this time, it would take place on a planet “the size of the earth.”
I’m not sure about you, but this sounds pretty impressive but with No Man’s Sky now being widely regarded as one of the most ambitious sci-fi games of all time, if anybody could pull it off, it's Hello Games.
Advert
Titled Light No Fire, this upcoming game 'is about adventure, building, survival, and exploration together'.
Set on a rich fantasy planet, Light No Fire 'brings the depth of a role playing game to the freedom of a survival sandbox'.

As it is still in its early stages of development, this upcoming game does not yet have a lot of information and it certainly does not have a release window.
However, thanks to its brief teaser trailer posted back in December 2023, potential players have been able to get a glimpse of what we can expect from such an ambitious game.
Consisting of just over two-minutes of footage, the Light No Fire announcement trailer shows us exactly what groups of friends will be able to get up to in multiplayer and it really is what you would imagine No Man’s Sky to look like if it was not set amongst the stars.
Exploration has never been better
Featuring underwater exploration, the ability to fly creatures across vast skies, and even the chance to build your very own homes, Light No Fire seems to be on an unprecedented scale and potential fans agree.
“Basically took what they got good at with NMS and went ham to make it a whole ass game on one planet, pretty cool guys. I approve,” one comment read.
Another agreed, adding, “The fact that the same team who created a universe are daunted by the idea of making a single planet is a very, very good thing.
That's a sign that they're aiming for density on a much smaller scale, despite that scale still being so much bigger than what anyone else has ever pulled off.”
Light No Fire will release at an unknown date in the future but let us hope we can get our hands on it very soon.
