LEGO Batman: Legacy of The Dark Knight was confirmed during Gamescom's Opening Night Live, with a fully realised open world and a bunch of Batman-themed goodies that should get even the most Joker-like amongst you pretty excited for it to release.
The game looks like a particularly ambitious step up for the LEGO series and it's being developed by TT Games, the studio behind the mightily impressive Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, so it's in pretty safe hands considering the epic scope.
One other confirmed feature, as shared by DiscussingFilm on X/Twitter, is the inclusion of Riddler puzzles scattered across the game world. Achievement hunters will have experience with just how frustrating those can be across Batman games of all different shapes and sizes, and they can sometimes even serve as a barrier to progression.
The Riddler challenges in the Arkham series are notorious for being both annoyingly difficult and far too numerous to be even remotely reasonable. Their return here is already freaking out players who fear they're in for a tough time come release day.

"The bane of my existence in a Batman game," one user simply said in response to the news. Another questioned The Riddler's credentials for inclusion at all, saying, "He doesn't even have any powers? How is he then being classified as a superhero?"
Others were admirably positive, enthusiastically waiting to jump into the new puzzles for the first time, "That glowing question mark has me excited! Riddler puzzles were always my favourite part of the Batman games."
The game is set to feature Matt Berry in the role of Bane, while characters like Jim Gordon, Catwoman, Robin, and Batgirl are all set to appear during the game's story.
LEGO Batman: Legacy of The Dark Knight is set to release in 2026, with a more specific date not currently confirmed by the publisher.
