The Legend of Zelda fans cannot believe how incredible the latest graphical overhaul for Twilight Princess looks, but its quality has me scratching my head because… it didn’t always look like this?
Nintendo-obsessed modder and wizard Henriko Magnifico Showcase is back, and this time they’ve taken aim at the original GameCube/Wii version of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.
Their latest video on their channel features the new progress they’ve made on their 4K Twilight Princess texture pack, and everyone in the comments is going wild over how good the game now looks.
“I replayed TP with Henriko's texture pack a year or two ago and I totally recommend it”, commented user @kooperPM64.

“Beautiful looking game, and I prefer the original to the Wii U release with its weird changes. Dolphin + GCN TP + this texture pack + 4k/16:9 fix is the definitive way to play TP. Thank you for all your hard work!”
“Nintendo should give Henriko a contract to make these textures for them. These are incredible”, replied user @MikeyDunksMusic.
And I agree, it looks amazing. The issue is, this is how I thought the game always looked.
Now, to clarify, I’m not mistaking the original GameCube/Wii release of the game with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD on the Wii U. I just thought this is how the game looked the whole time.

But after going through some 1080p playthroughs of the original game on YouTube, I immediately realised how incredible Henriko’s work actually is.
It kinda makes me wonder if this might inspire Nintendo to actually re-release The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD on the Nintendo Switch 2 at some point.
Although, let’s be real, they’ll probably just add the original version to the Nintendo Switch Online GameCube library and call it a day.
