After refreshing Twitter for the fifth time, it is finally time to accept that the internet is facing some sort of outage and it seems as though it is not just social media that is affected.
In the past hour, some of our favourite sites and apps have reportedly been down due to a Cloudflare crash affecting sites such as Twitter, Spotify, and more.
However, it seems as though gamers were also impacted by the sudden outage.
More specifically, League of Legends players.

Since the sudden outage, Cloudflare has released a statement:
"Cloudflare is aware of, and investigating an issue which potentially impacts multiple customers. Further detail will be provided as more information becomes available,” it reads.
Whilst a full list of affected sites and apps has not been released, according to Down Detector, League of Legends was also impacted with players unable to access the hit Riot Games title.
Since its outage, users have reported also losing access to film logging site Letterboxd with users across various social media platforms, sites, and game servers being met with a message blaming the crash on Cloudflare.

A message indicated there was an “internal server error on Cloudflare’s network” and asked users to “please try again in a few minutes”.

For those unaware of Cloudflare, it is an internet infrastructure that provides core technologies for many of our favourite online stops.
It is also capable of protecting sites from cyber attacks as well as keeping sites up and running during moments of heavy traffic.

Put simply, if Cloudflare experiences an issue, we are all going to know about it.
At the time of writing, it seems as though the majority of the affected websites are back online and so League of Legends players will be able to lock their favourite champions and run it down mid once again.
An updated message
At the time of writing, Cloudflare has posted an updated statement.

“Cloudflare is aware of, and investigating an issue which impacts multiple customers," it reads.
"Widespread 500 errors, Cloudflare Dashboard and API also failing.
“We are working to understand the full impact and mitigate this problem. More updates to follow shortly.”
It remains to be seen what caused this major outage but luckily, it seems to have been fixed relatively quickly and so there is no need to panic.
