“As a result of this collision, Avagimyan was ejected from his motorcycle,” the authorities said (via The Independent). “After the collision, Momoa exited his vehicle to assist Avagimyan and was able to flag down a passing motorist to call 911.” The actor apparently “remained on scene throughout the investigation”.
Hollywood Life report that Momoa was in a 1970 Oldsmobile when the incident occurred. It’s not known what exactly caused the crash to occur, but it’s currently under investigation.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Momoa has apparently been signed on to star in none other than the Minecraft movie, which, yes, is a thing that’s happening. As of April this year, it was still in pre-production, but the director of Napoleon Dynamite, Jared Hess, will be taking the helm, in collaboration with Lydia Winters and Vu Bui from Mojang Studios, as well as producers Roy Lee (It) and Mary Parent (Dune). Momoa’s role in the movie hasn’t been revealed - we can only hope he’ll be bringing Minecraft Steve to life (It’d be iconic).
Momoa is also returning to his role as Aquaman in the sequel, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which is currently set to release on 17 March 2023.
