Invincible season 3 confirmed, coming sooner than expected

It seems that Invincible fans won't be waiting long for season three.

We all want more of a good thing especially when it comes to popular comic book adaptations, and Amazon Prime Video series Invincible is no exception.

From the mind of Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead as well as Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, Invincible is an animation not for the faint of heart with not somewhat mature(ish) storylines and a heavy dose of brutality.

Check out the Invincible season two teaser trailer below!

According to the Invincible synopsis, it tells the tale of a: “17-year-old named Mark Grayson and his transformation into a superhero under the guidance of his father Omni-Man, the most powerful superhero on the planet. During his transformation, Mark finds himself struggling between his personal life and superhero duties, where he will be forced to prove that he can be the hero that his father is.”

Invincible also features an all-star cast including the likes of J.K. Simmons, Sandra Oh, Steven Yeun, Zachary Quinto, and even the legend that is Mark Hamill making a cameo. At the time of writing, Invincible has one full season on Amazon Prime Video, with the second arriving this November. That being said, there is a also singular special episode available now dedicated to Atom Eve that offers a bridge between the first two seasons.

However, even though the second season is yet to be released, the third season has not only been confirmed but it could be arriving much sooner than expected. It was revealed during a recent San Diego Comic-Con panel for the animated series.

In a tweet shared by the official Twitter account of Invincible, the voice recording for season three is already complete to ensure that fans are not waiting as long for the third season when season two concludes. Still, there is a lot of work to be done before season three arrives.

“This is a very complicated show. There's a lot of work going into it," creator Robert Kirkman told ComicBook.com. “Making an animated series is kind of like assembling a factory and getting that factory running, and now that we have everything in place, this is going to be the longest gap there will ever be between seasons. From this point on, every gap between seasons will be smaller.”

In related news, it’s recently been revealed that an Invincible video game is currently in development, but it might not be what fans quite expect.

At this time, we do not have a release date for Invincible season three, but season two will arrive on Amazon Prime Video on 3 November 2023.
