Since the series inception in 2017 for PlayStation 4, the Horizon series has become one of Sony PlayStation’s leading franchises of the blue brand.

The Horizon series is set in the 31st with much of humanity on the brink of extinction with Earth now ravaged by robot machines that eventually threaten to consume our planet. However, an outcast named Aloy banished by her tribe is humanity's last hope and with the help of her friends, she fights to ensure humans live to survive another day.

The most recent release in the video game series is Horizon Forbidden West which launched in 2022, followed by its expansion the following year, Burning Shores, the latter of which was released exclusively for PlayStation 5.

Understandably, fans are eager for more Horizon content and they have just that with the upcoming spin-off, LEGO Horizon Adventures, which looks very much inspired by The LEGO Movie with its visual presentation. That being said, at least for now, fans will have to look elsewhere if they’re after official lore related to the main video game series.

Thankfully, you can get just that with the Horizon Zero Dawn graphic novel series published by Titan Comics in collaboration with series developer Guerrilla Games.

Written by Anne Toole and Ann Maulina, volume one, Horizon Zero Dawn: The Sunhawk was released in 2020 with volume two, Horizon Zero Dawn: Liberation in 2022. As an owner of both these novels, I can wholeheartedly recommend them if you’re a fan of the video game series and so do fans on Reddit.

“The latest Liberation comic finally came out! Has anyone else read it? I thought it was great but I’ve always liked Ersa’s storyline, and Erend so it’s not a hard sell for me,” exclaimed Redditor EmerMonach.

“It was good! Was neat to see Balahn and Petra back even if only for a panel or two each,” replied dwoller with EmerMonach agreeing “Yeah, I liked that too. I always thought Balahn’s voice actor did a great job.”

Both of the Horizon Zero Dawn novels can be found on retailers such as Amazon and shouldn't cost you much more than £10 to £12 each.
