Hogwarts Legacy's 'perfect length' praised by majority of fans

Fans are very satisfied with Hogwarts Legacy's leaked runtime, which will keep players busy for some time.

Hogwarts Legacy’s release is right around the corner, and leaks and rumours are already flooding the internet, getting fans more hyped than ever before.

Some supposed scans of the official Hogwarts Legacy art book recently found their way online, and revealed an early version of the world map. The key word there is “early”, of course, so it’s by no means final, but assuming that it’s real, the scale of the world looks absolutely enormous, and its runtime will apparently match.

It was recently revealed that Simon Pegg will be voicing headmaster Phineas Nigellus Black in the game - take a look at the introduction to his character below.

One leaker claimed that if players just focus on the main story, Hogwarts Legacy will take around 35 hours to beat. Reportedly, you can expect that to double to 70 hours if you want to do everything the title has to offer (including completing all the side quests and finding all the collectibles). That’s by no means a short runtime, but the majority of fans on Reddit are satisfied with the prospect.

“Good, give me a game to sink my teeth into for longer than a month,” Afuneralblaze wrote, responding to the leak. “Good length for an open world RPG,” maxwms agreed. “That’s a nice sweet spot. Not too short, no bloat for the sake of promoting hundreds of hours of chore simulation,” fireflyry added. “This seems perfect to me,” commented jackie1616.

While many fans are gearing themselves up for the game’s release next month, a large proportion of gamers are planning on boycotting the game due to its connection to Harry Potter author J.K Rowling, who has been criticised for making harmful comments about the transgender community. She hasn’t been directly involved with the development of the title, but will certainly still profit from it since it’s part of her franchise.

Hogwarts Legacy’s release varies from platform to platform - it’ll hit PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC on 10 February, PS4 and Xbox One on 4 April, and Nintendo Switch on 25 July.
