Superficially, Hogwarts Legacy might seem to be one of the most successful games of 2023, however it hasn't been without its spate of controversies.
Harry Potter author J. K. Rowling is famous for publishing comments criticising the transgender community, for example, joking that International Women's Day would be renamed to "We Who Must Not Be Named Day" in inclusivity efforts. Rowling has added that she sees purchases of her products to be an admission of support for her opinions, and even though Avalanche Software clarified that she had no direct involvement in Hogwarts Legacy, the association is enough for some to sever themselves from the game.
Boycotts were occurring before the game was out and since then, content creators have been scrutinised for streaming Hogwarts Legacy either with or without knowledge of Rowling's statements. Now, Vtuber Silvervale has responded to the accusations that her stream chat was removing the word "trans" in her Twitch chat while streaming the RPG.

Here's the in-game memorial for Hagrid actor Robbie Coltrane in Hogwarts Legacy:
In tears, Silvervale said she had been severely harassed and doxxed for streaming Hogwarts Legacy and that banning the word "trans" was unintentional. As shown below, one person typed "trans rights are human rights" in Silvervale's chat during the stream and was then "timed-out" for 10 minutes. The streamer explained in Discord that this was "default auto mod behavior" and that she has "always been supportive and understanding of the LGBT community" so this response was a shock.
"I care about you guys, not the random people jumping on a hate mob for clout and attention," she continued on stream, crying, about the inclusion of the word "trans" in the automatic ban list and added that the auto mod was implemented to avoid hate raids.
"It was my whole childhood. It was a world to escape to and after every book release I'd wear my little robe and scarf with my best friends... and it was my whole world. I didn't have a great childhood and Harry Potter made it so much better," she said.

Still, the room is split over those who doubt that she has been doxxed due to the lack of proof and those who empathise with the situation she's found herself in.
