Unfortunately, an update to the frequently asked questions about Hogwarts Legacy confirms that the fan-favourite feature Quidditch is not playable in the game, in spite of promotional material showing this could be the case.
Even though we've seen students astride a broom and dressed in appropriate robes, the absence of Quidditch was noted, and it was a odd omission given how central it is to Harry Potter's experience at the school and how important it appears to be to Hogwarts itself. Avalanche Studios could confirm that there would be broomstick races and flying classes, however, the inclusion of the iconic pitch got people's hopes up.

The developer has now firmly stated that there won't be any sort of engagement with the sport of Quidditch in the game at all. "Quidditch is not playable in Hogwarts Legacy," read the frequently asked questions section on the official website. "However, broom flight for traversal and broom race challenges are part of the game. Players can also fly brooms to explore new and familiar locations surrounding Hogwarts Castle."

Honestly, I don't see this being a dealbreaker for those who were on the fence about picking up Hogwarts Legacy. There is still flight, in some shape or form, and the grounds itself offer a huge level of detail and exploration on foot or by broom. And there's even the possibility of diving into the Black Lake, which was featured in the Goblet of Fire film, for the first time in the franchise's history of games. Of course, there's bound to be a lot to look forward to in Hogwarts Legacy when it comes to PC and consoles, on 10 February, 2023.
