The first Hogwarts Legacy game did a really solid job of creating a wizarding world that was immediately recognisable to long time fans of Harry Potter and the surrounding books and films.
The story takes place around a century before the arrival of the Boy Who Lived at the famous school, so it offered us a nice look at what came before and why the school was as it was by the time we get to the 1990s.
That said, there were some omissions that really would have elevated the game to a whole new level if they had been included. Those include elements like multiplayer (which fans have attempted to mod in), as well as quidditch and more in-depth roleplaying elements.
The sequel is now in development and there are rumours that it may be a live service game, which would maybe take the multiplayer demands too far the other way for some. As part of that, fans have started to request other features they want to see, and one in particular keeps popping up.

Hogwarts Legacy 2 Needs a Reputation System
Over on Reddit, one user shared their belief that the world in the first Hogwarts Legacy doesn't feel particularly alive, as the NPCs in the world do very little to react to the actions of the player.
The top response suggested a reputation system, and it's safe to say it's proving popular as a potential solution.
"Something like the reputation system from Mass Effect or Red Dead Redemption 2 maybe," the comment read.
"Have the NPC's notice you and know your reputation as you earn one. They know if your starting to get famous and they have "heard" about you and you did this or that. They also have "heard" that you're a good person or perhaps otherwise. Maybe your a good person but dangerous, Maybe your a real son of a b***h and should be avoided.
"Maybe your a dumb chump and get made fun of. The possibilities are extensive in a world like Hogwarts."
Responses to that idea were almost universally in agreement, with one saying, "The whole game should have a reputation system where you can greet and see how much they like you and that is for every NPC you should be able to check.
"A Hogwarts game should be more personable then other third person games. It's set in a school."
"I hoped that the common rooms would be akin to the camps in RDR2. Places to go back and hang out with your friends, play some games, sleep. Nope," another added.
Whatever the sequel does look like, the immense success of the first game should mean that they feel a little more comfortable swinging for the fences.
Fingers crossed they manage to nail the formula.
