Hogwarts Legacy is a tale of two halves. Many Wizarding World fans have vowed to boycott the game due to transphobic comments made by author JK Rowling. Rowling was not involved in the game’s development, but she will certainly profit from the game’s success.

Some fans are taking to Steam to protest against the game’s release. On the other hand, Hogwarts Legacy is already shaping up to be a colossal success despite the controversy. It’s already topped the Steam charts and is currently the best-selling PlayStation 5 game of the year so far. As we near the game’s release, new details are emerging. We now know that Simon Pegg will portray Headmaster Black, plus new-gen versions of the game will include a 60fps mode. For you PC players, the full PC requirements and specs have also been unveiled.

Take a tour of the four house common rooms below.

Let’s start with the minimum requirements. You’ll need to be running 64-bit Windows 10, with either an Intel Core i5-6600 (3.3 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 1400 (3.2 GHz). The game will need 16GB of RAM, and in terms of GPU, you’re looking at a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4GB or AMD Radeon RX 470 4GB. The DirectX Version is noted as DX 12 and finally, you’ll require 85GB HDD with regards to storage. Devs do note though that while HDD is supported, SDD is preferred for the 720p/30fps low quality settings.

If you’re interested in the recommended specs, you’re looking at 64-bit Windows 10, plus either an Intel Core i7-8700 (3.2GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (3.6 GHz). 16GB of RAM remains unchanged but GPU requirements change to the NVIDIA GeForce 1080 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT or INTEL Arc A770. DirectX and Storage requirements also remain unchanged. This will play the game at 1080p/60fps. Take a look at the full requirements below.

There are also details on possible ‘ultra’ specs and ‘ultra 4K’ for those of you who are really trying to get the most out of this game. Hogwarts Legacy releases on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 10 February.
