Hogwarts Legacy was one of the best games to be released in 2023 despite somehow not picking up major gongs at prestigious awards ceremonies.

Despite not being officially canon to the lore of the Harry Potter novels, Hogwarts Legacy was the Wizarding World fan's dream taking place in the late 1890s, long before the popular novels and movies. In Hogwarts Legacy, you play as a student entering into the fifth academic year at the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to the surprise of students and tutors alike.

Whether you’re partaking in main story missions, being immersed in the many side-actives or visiting the surrounding areas such as the Forbidden Forest or Hogsmeade Village, there’s plenty of fun to be had in Hogwarts Legacy. Heck, you can even spend countless hours exploring the wondrous halls of Hogwarts Castle.

However, as fun as Hogwarts Legacy is, much like other fantastic games, it’s not entirely perfect. While we could list many features we’d love to see in Hogwarts Legacy, perhaps one that would be requested more than most is New Game Plus.

Unfortunately, despite being somewhat of a tradition in action RPG titles such as Hogwarts Legacy, you will not be able to take your leveled-up character and items into a new campaign. Instead, each new campaign will be started from fresh, which is a shame, especially if you want to tackle the harder difficulty modes.

Fortunately at least, as long as you play on PC, you can download a free New Game Plus mod which is available via Nexus mods created by alkmaar999. While this mod isn't an actual New Game Plus, it allows you to start a new campaign with maximum talent points, spells, traits and more.

Sure, this isn't an actual New Game Plus, but it’s as close to the real thing as we’re likely to get and it’s great for those who want a big boost in a new campaign regardless of the difficulty mode they choose to play.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
