Have you ever wanted to blend the worlds of Hogwarts Legacy and Assassin’s Creed? If so, then this open-world RPG could be your cup of tea.

In a year that has been stacked with some truly amazing games, Hogwarts Legacy was looking to be a surefire contender for the Game of the Year when it was initially released in February this year. Then to the dismay of Hogwarts Legacy fans, the rest of 2023 happened. Still, that doesn't take away from the fact that Hogwarts Legacy is a fun game that lets us live the fantasy Wizarding World life like no video game has done before.

What’s more, over the years Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed series has morphed from an action-stealth game to something that is more akin to the RPG genre. Well, that was until Assassin’s Creed Mirage arrived which promised to take the series back to its roots.

However, if you wanted something that is Hogwarts Legacy meets Assassin’s Creed that features an immersive open world and RPG mechanics, then GreedFall from developers Spiders could be worth your consideration. Thankfully, GreedFall isn't actually developed by a team of spiders, or at least I think so, anyway.

“Engage in a core roleplaying experience, and forge the destiny of a new world seeping with magic, and filled with riches, lost secrets, and fantastic creatures. With diplomacy, deception and force, become part of a living, evolving world - influence its course and shape your story,” reads the official description of GreedFall.

On Metacritic, GreedFall has achieved scores as high as 78. While that might not blow you away, it seems that GreedFall does appear to have earned cult status with its fanbase garnering ‘Mostly Positive’ reviews on Steam.

“I haven't played a game like this in a long time. It felt like Dragon Age: Inquisition, without the micromanage of the companions. I really enjoyed it, and I didn't stop until finishing all side quests,” said Steam user Andystyl. While another Steam user described GreedFall as The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings meets Mass Effect.

GreedFall is out now on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. Its sequel, GreedFall 2: The Dying World is expected to be released sometime in 2024.
