Assassin's Creed: Black Flag meets Zelda in epic new open-world RPG

Flying naval combat? I'm sold.

An upcoming Steam game that looks like a mix between Assassin's Creed: Black Flag and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom just got a brand new trailer, and we already cannot wait for this one to drop.

Lost Skies is an open-world, pirate-themed survival crafting game by developers Bossa Games that will see players “explore ancient ruins, master advanced technology, and craft your very own skyship to brave nature’s fury and colossal threats”.

It also just got a brand new cinematic trailer that looks absolutely gorgeous and is giving me some serious Skies of Arcadia vibes.

No exact release date for this one beyond sometime in 2025 unfortunately, so you might be waiting a long old while to play the full game.

However, if you simply cannot wait to get your hands on this one, then you can experience a free little tidbit of what Lost Skies has to offer ahead of time.

Bossa Games released a free download for Lost Skies: Island Creator in December of last year, which has generated a lot of positive buzz and earned itself a “Very Positive” review score on Steam.

Alternatively, if you really, really can’t wait, you can also apply to be a part of Lost Skies’ Open Development Community, in which “you'll be given early access to WIP builds of Lost Skies, and will be asked to share your feedback” with the developers.

The devs have also promised that a demo for Lost Skies will be available at the next Steam Next Fest, which is supposed to start on February 24, so you won’t have to wait too long to get a true feeling of what’s in store for the full release.

Here’s hoping that cinematic trailer lives up to the hype, because (whenever it does release) I think this one could be bit of a sleeper hit in 2025.
