Hogwarts Legacy Rolls Out Huge PC Update With All New Support Features

Patches galore for the best wizarding game of all time

Developed by Portkey Games, Hogwarts Legacy was a really solid attempt at creating an open world game in the universe that many of us know well from the Harry Potter series, even if it is set more than a century before the chosen one comes to the school.

Walking the corridors of Hogwarts, attending classes and fighting evil forces with familiar spells was frankly just a fun way to spend an evening and, though it undoubtedly had its flaws, it's well worth jumping back into if you haven't finished it yet.

If you are planning to do so, the development team is continuing to roll out patches designed to improve the experience, regardless of what platform you're playing on. The latest one of those will come as great news to those of you who have managed to get your hands on the new Xbox ROG Ally or Ally X, with support for both added so that it's nicely playable at launch.

Outside of that are some tangible improvements to performance and stability, as well as some exciting changes for the game's extensive modding community. The full list of changes is as follows:

Modding fixes

  • Resolved issue causing “installation stalled” to appear incorrectly when updating mods
  • Resolved incorrect sorting when using the Highest Rated filter
  • Resolved “Load Game” UI in the mod menu being clipped at certain resolutions
  • Resolved issue which prevented the report mod button from working, if it was previously clicked
  • Resolved an issue which sometimes prevented the player from accessing the “Load Games” menu screen from the Enabled Mods menu
  • Resolved “Copy Save” button for mods not working as intended when using a controller

Stability/Performance

  • Resolved incorrect graphics profiles being applied to some handheld devices
  • AMD configuration changes to improve overall stability for PCs using that chipset

Miscellaneous

  • Xbox ROG Ally and Xbox ROG Ally X support added
  • Intel XeSS and XeFG improvements added to lower end PCs
  • XeLL optimization improvements

Microsoft Store (Windows PC) Fixes

  • Resolved crash with some specific mod visual effect triggers
  • Resolved camera sensitivity not being saved
  • Resolved sometimes losing modded saves when deleting other save files
  • Resolved crash when resizing game window
  • Resolved pinned modded saves not staying pinned
  • Resolved crash that would occur sometimes when using cloud saves

All of those changes are now live, so you should find them to be active if you go to play on your new handheld, or if you're modding the game on your PC.
