The highly anticipated Wizarding World RPG, Hogwarts Legacy, has been out for just over two months, and fans have somehow already managed to massively upgrade its graphics. Who needs remakes?
Modders are very powerful beings - I genuinely don’t think Skyrim would have had the same impact on the gaming community without them. While normally, enhanced visual mods tend to come out after a game has actually aged a bit, Nexus Mods user Aeon flew right out of the gate to get Hogwarts Legacy looking shinier than ever - the difference is genuinely huge.
Before we get into it, take a look at this hilarious mod featuring PS1 Hagrid below.
The creator has described the mod as a “highly optimised reshade preset”. They created it by using “image editing software, referencing Scottish Highlands and Google, to work towards a true to life photorealism experience, without crippling performance”.

In the Harry Potter movies, many of the scenes which took place in the grounds of Hogwarts were filmed in the Scottish Highlands, so it makes perfect sense for the mod to take inspiration from the location in order to enhance the game. Obviously, this mod can only be used on the PC version of Hogwarts Legacy, so anyone playing on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S is out of luck. PC gamers have seriously got it made when it comes to this game - a team of modders is currently working on a huge multiplayer mod which will allow up to 10 people to explore the Wizarding World together. Considering that the lack of multiplayer was one of the main complaints that many players had when the title first launched, this really is a game changer.
Hogwarts Legacy is set to release on PS4 and Xbox One on 5 May, and Nintendo Switch on 25 July.
