Counting down to the release of Hogwarts Legacy isn’t the easiest task. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC owners are less than one month away from getting their hands on the title. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One folk will then have to wait until April, with Nintendo Switch owners trailing behind in July. It’s certainly not a conventional rollout.
It’s also a game plagued by controversy due to author JK Rowling’s upsetting transphobic comments. It’s something that’s alienated much of the Harry Potter fan base leading many to boycott the game. Rowling was not involved in its creation but will, of course, profit from its sales. That being said, plenty of fans are still looking forward to Hogwarts Legacy’s release. In recent days, Simon Pegg was revealed to be portraying the game’s headmaster and now, we also know what graphical options Hogwarts Legacy will offer.
Check out the introduction to Pegg’s character, Phineas Nigellus Black, below.
It’s been confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy will indeed offer a 60fps mode on both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game. Announcing the news, WB Games wrote, “The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S console versions of Hogwarts Legacy support multiple graphical modes of play, the most common of which are Fidelity mode which runs at 30 fps, and Performance mode which targets 60 fps.”

An update was also provided on Variable Refresh Rate. Devs added, “Graphical modes for players who have Variable Refresh Rate (VRR)-supported TVs or monitors are supported for Hogwarts Legacy on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.” It’s not yet known if Hogwarts Legacy will have a photo mode but with these options, it would be a major shame if it didn’t.
If you simply cannot wait to dive into Hogwarts Legacy, you can now get sorted into your house ahead of the game’s release. If you do so, you can actually unlock some extra in-game content, so that’s a to-do to tick off as soon as possible.
