Helldivers 2 Update Makes Change We've Been Begging For

Helldivers 2 has just launched patch 01.004.000, also known as the Into The Unjust update, which adds a load of new enemies as well as making a few necessary bug fixes.

Announced last week along with the Xbox Series X/S release and new Helldivers 2 x Halo: ODST Legendary Warbond, the new Into The Unjust update adds randomly-generated cave systems and new Terminid enemies for you to fight.

The latest patch also brings in some new changes and fixes to the game, including fixing a bug that has remained in the game for over a year.

As per the patch notes, “Motivational Shocks Booster no longer applies to enemies” as of Helldivers 2 patch 01.004.000.

Motivational Shocks was added in the Polar Patriots Premium Warbond back in May 2024. It’s a booster that allows you greater recovery after being hit by certain attacks by reducing the mobility debuff.

It isn’t a hugely popular booster, as there are better alternatives available to you, but it still has its uses.

However, as noted above, a major bug that made the effects also apply to enemies has been present in the game since the warbond was launched over a year ago. Well, at least we can finally put this issue to bed.

Patch 01.004.000 also makes a few other fixes to the game’s balance. The Adreno-Defibrillator status effect no longer affects players inside combat walkers. While fun, it was massively overpowered and probably needed a tweak.

However, it seems that some major bugs still haven’t been addressed. Some weapon sound effects are still missing for some players, and interrupting the reload animation of the StA-11 SMG may result in the magazine being consumed without reloading it.

These issues are detailed on Arrowhead’s website, and presumably may be fixed in a future update.
