A Harry Potter fan has made their own version of Hogwarts Legacy in the Unity Engine, and it looks astoundingly good.

Titled Henwards Legacy, the game is a work in progress and is being created by Arnie’s Workshop, which has been documenting the development process through a YouTube channel. The videos showcase the game design methods used and how it’s structured. There's also a gameplay demo so you can see everything built so far in action.

Enjoy a tour of the real Hogwarts Legacy's four house common rooms below.

The videos are also intended to teach would-be game designers how they can make their own creations, as every step in the design process is explained. It’s clear that a lot of work has gone into the project so far. Featuring a beautifully crafted Hogwarts castle, complete with the infamous talking portraits, the game is structured similarly to Hogwarts Legacy in the sense you have to complete quests using an assortment of spells. Take a look below.

For a solo project, what has been achieved so far is incredibly impressive, and fans have been expressing their admiration for the game’s development in the comment sections. “Arnie is just amazing. I can't believe how much he can do just by his own," one viewer wrote, while another added, "That was awesome. I am so EXCITED to see what passion project you will release. I loved seeing you overcome the polygon rendering issue by using trick trees that ACTUALLY LOOK GOOD.” Someone else commented, "I'm so blown away. It's so beautiful. I would play this 100% if it was a real game.”

The praise continued: “This video is awesome! I love the little lesson bits, teaching us the methods you’re using. I’m super interested in checking out more about visual scripting now.”

We’ve got to admit, Henwards Legacy looks awesome so far. It’ll be great to see how it holds up against Hogwarts Legacy after a few more updates and additions. Speaking of Hogwarts Legacy, players are still invested in the Wizarding World game, especially the modding community, who’ve been adding a wide variety of new content and gameplay features.
