Halo: RedShift announced, looks like the Halo we remember

Halo there!

If I get the opportunity to play some more Halo goodness, you’ll never hear me complaining and this upcoming fan-made campaign should give every fan of the series a reason to get excited.

We all know that at some point we’ll be treated to a follow-up to 2021’s Halo Infinite, we just don't know when. In March 2024 it seemed that Microsoft had teased the next Halo and some believe that its co-creator, Marcus Lehto could make a triumphant return with Halo 7.

Check out the Halo: RedShift trailer below!

Until Halo 7 arrives we at least have the likes of all the content included in Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo Infinite to keep us busy. However, what if we wanted something a little different created by someone outside of current developers 343 Industries?

Well, that’s where the indie development group called Blimp Brigade comes into play with its fan-created campaign Halo: RedShift and it looks awesome, so far. Halo: RedShift takes place after the fall of Reach and its campaign can be played on your lonesome or co-op with fellow Spartans as a mod for Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

“RedShift is a large, single-player and cooperative campaign set in the Halo universe where you will be taken on an epic adventure through stunning environments and levels,” reads the description on moddb.com. “The project is being developed by the Blimp Brigade team for Halo: The Master Chief Collection using the same tools Bungie/343 Industries used to make the popular Halo games.”

At this time, Halo: RedShift does not have a release date but with a fan-made project as promising as this one, there’s no rush. Unfortunately, as with most mods, Halo: RedShift is only compatible with the PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

If you want to scratch that Halo itch until the next game arrives the entire series is available via Xbox Game Pass on PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.
