Following the rumours that a Halo: Combat Evolved remake is in the works, one developer is ready to send off Halo Infinite in style.
Despite not being officially confirmed by either Halo Studios or Xbox itself, it is generally believed that a Halo: Combat Evolved remake is currently in development and will be launched in the not-too-distant future.
First released way back in 2001 and developed by Bungie, if any Halo entry deserves a remake, it is Combat Evolved but alas, we wait with bated breath to see if it will ever come to fruition.
After all, the Halo franchise is one of the most successful in gaming with the FPS series consisting of nine mainline entries as well as various remasters, mobile games, and arcade games.

Most recently, Halo Infinite was released back in 2021 by 343 Industries and although it is not widely regarded as one of the best in the series, it has still maintained a pretty decent playerbase and that is in part thanks to its dedicated modding community.
That includes Agoat over on Twitter who aims to work on one last mod for Halo Infinite ahead of the anticipated launch of Halo: Combat Evolved Remastered.
“With the Halo CE Remake announcement coming, I figure it'd be appropriate to send off Halo Infinite with one last mod,” they shared.
“Halo Infinite Bygones is a campaign overhaul mod, and its development will be streamed on Twitch.”

The modder reveals that he aims to fix Halo Infinite’s sandbox as well as “overall game feel, and some enemy behaviours” but he will not be able to “fix the story” despite one user asking.
Not only that but Agoat claims that he is the only one that makes gameplay mods such as this for Halo Infinite and the Bygones mod “will be entirely gameplay focused” with an emphasis on fixing “player handling”.
As mentioned, Agoat who is the lead designer at Cottonhammer Studios, will be streaming the process of creating the Halo Infinite Bygones mod so if you want a behind-the-scenes peek at all of the work that goes into it, you won’t want to miss out.
As for Halo: Combat Evolved Remastered, insider Rebs Gaming has recently claimed that such a remake exists and it will be a collaboration between Halo Studios and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion remaster studio Virtuos.
Advert
Once again, such a remake has not been confirmed by Halo Studios or Virtuos but with all of the recent rumours, it is getting even harder to ignore or hope for.
