‘Halo: Infinite’ Teases The Return Of Fan-Favourite Original Maps

After Halo: Infinite's second season proved to be a disappointment for fans, developers are now looking into bringing back old content.

Believe it or not, people are still playing Halo: Infinite. This partly fills me with joy because 343 Industries have been working tirelessly to try and fix the game’s neverending flurry of flaws but the fact surprises me regardless.

As I’m sure every Halo fan is all too aware, Halo: Infinite is still lacking a co-op campaign and the player base recently hit an all time low on Steam Database. Season two landed a few weeks ago and it was hoped that the new campaign would breathe life into the game but instead, players complained that it took away “everything fun.” The game’s developers now appear to be employing a brand new tactic. They’re really trying.

We had the chance to drive a real Warthog from Halo: Infinite. Check out the footage below.

Halo: Infinite’s head of creative Joseph Staten recently appeared on the Kinda Funny Xcast where he was asked why the game hasn’t added classic maps as a “buffer” for fans in between new content drops.

Replying to the host, Staten said, “That’s a good idea, Parris. There are a lot of maps that are awesome. I think it would be awesome to play on those maps again, don’t you guys? That sounds like a fun thing. I’ll mark that in my notebook.”

It’s not exactly a guarantee that original maps will come to Halo: Infinite but it's certainly a welcomed step in the right direction as the game so desperately needs to get fans back on board.

The secret to that will surely be through the introduction of a co-op campaign. Currently, co-op is scheduled to launch, at the very earliest, in August and this will be online co-op only. Split screen co-op does not currently have a launch date but it’s scheduled to follow season three which will release in November.

As I always say, you cannot criticise the effort that’s being put into this game, even if players don’t exactly feel like it's paying off.
