With video game subscriptions services like Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus going from strength to strength, it’s no wonder that developers are taking note. This somewhat new and successful way of accessing games not only leads to successful launch days but also is a way for older titles to get a rebirth.

That seems to be the case for Rockstar who are aiming to make their subscription service, GTA+, even more exciting. Not only can the service be used to access its more recent titles, but it is now planning on releasing some of its classics. Added as “a rotating assortment”, three classic titles have been made available to subscribers starting off with the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.

Take a look at the GTA: Vice City Remastered graphics mod below!

This trilogy features Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Released between 2001 and 2004, this trilogy will give subscribers a trip down memory lane for no extra cost. Rockstar has not mentioned how long this set will be available so make sure to head over now if you don’t want to miss out. For those yet to sign up for GTA+, you can do so for $5.99/£4.99 per month and it is available for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

With the promise of a rotating assortment, we can expect a lot more from Rockstar’s subscription service in the future. Not only are Grand Theft Auto, Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars missing from the list, but we could also see Red Dead Redemption becoming available in the future. This could take a while though considering the latter only just got a new port. Rockstar also has some older and lesser-known titles under their belt such as Manhunt and Red Dead Revolver that some fans would be eager to relive.

Not only is this an excellent deal but now would be the perfect time to get up to scratch with the Grand Theft Auto franchise considering rumours of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 are in full swing.
