The best GTA minigames are remembered for their distraction from the main story, either because of their ludicrous premise or simple addictive gameplay loop.
Given how numerous they’ve been across the entire franchise, it’s a given that GTA VI will certainly feature its own roster of minigames, with some potentially returning from earlier games.
We’ve picked out seven minigames that have appeared across the GTA series which deserve to come back for the sequel.
We’ll kick this list off with perhaps the most iconic minigame from across the entire GTA series: bowling. Appearing in GTA IV, the minigame took on a whole identity of its own thanks to the cousin Roman memes (“Hey cousin! Want to go bowling?”).
Bowling is pretty popular in Florida, serving as a fun air-conditioned activity in the hot weather for families and social groups to gather together. So it’d be easy to see a few bowling alleys pop up in and around Vice City.

GTA V’s minigames might not be as fondly remembered as those in the earlier games, but its golf minigame stood out as one of the best ones, even being better than some proper golf video games.
With Leonida’s tropical climate, I’m sure there are going to be plenty of outdoor activities for residents of Vice City to participate in, so I can definitely see Jason and Lucia being able to play golf at the country club once they’re rich enough.

By pinching an ambulance in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, you were able to go on a series of paramedic missions where you are sent to different accident sites and must transport patients to the nearest hospital.
Both GTA VI trailers have already teased that Leonidas State’s rather chaotic nature is going to play a huge role in the open-world sandbox, and so it’d be really fun to have those paramedic missions return, even if it doesn’t make much narrative sense.

Another great minigame from GTA IV, pool was an excellent addition due to the banter you could have with the other character you decided to play against. It was an excellent example of the game’s social relationship system in action.
I can only imagine the kind of fun banter Jason and Lucia will have when playing each other at pool. The playful riffs and teases on each other when they mess up a shot, or the impressive boasts when managing to pull off a good trick.

The triathlons in GTA V were a great example of combining skydiving, powerboat, and street racing all in one. It was a great way to utilise the different vehicle modes of the game into one race.
It’d be fun to see this return in GTA VI with new mixes of transportation included for good measure, like adding planes and seaplanes to make the races more intense.

Yes, it’s another GTA IV minigame (did I mention enough times this game had great side activities?). Darts was a pretty easy minigame to get good at, but also served as a fun distraction between missions.
It’d be cool to see Rockstar Games build on this feature in GTA VI with some new game types, with alternate modes and rules available to spice things up.

Casino is a great minigame that has appeared a few times in the GTA series due to the amount of variety in table games you can participate in, as well as the high potential to earn cash from the games.
Having some casino minigames in GTA VI such as poker, craps, and roulette would go a long way to giving you a way to spend your hard earned cash by the end of the game, by either winning big jackpots or losing it all on a single bet.
