10 GTA Characters We Want To See Back In GTA 6

I just need to know if my boy Niko is okay.

With Grand Theft Auto VI releasing later this year, we’re still yet to actually get a closer look at some of the supporting and minor characters who will be appearing in the story mode at launch.

As seen in GTA V, Rockstar Games is not a stranger to including cameos and sizeable appearances from characters who appeared in previous games, and it’s entirely possible the next sequel will aim for the same.

With around eight months until it releases, here are ten past Grand Theft Auto characters that we’d like to see come back in GTA VI.

1. Phil Cassidy

Phil Cassidy appears in the original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City as an arms dealer who supplies you with a variety of military-grade weapons, and also plays a role in several missions throughout the game.

It’s very likely that he’ll appear in GTA VI, following the appearance of a character that looks like him running a gun shop called “Phil’s”. However, considering this character has both of his arms, it may be a relative or just a mere reference to Phil, rather than the Phil we knew during the events of Vice City.

2. Donald Love

Donald Love has yet to appear in the GTA HD Universe, but his recurring appearances in GTA III, Liberty City Stories, and GTA: Vice City have made him a memorable villain. Unlike most GTA villains though, he successfully escapes punishment.

Rockstar Games later said of his fate that “No one is quite sure what happened to Donald Love. He certainly crossed a few boundaries and was trying to find a way back to normality. Whether or not he managed this, and what happened to the elderly Asian gentleman are matters we cannot speculate on.”

It’d be interesting to see him pop up again in GTA VI, perhaps closing the door on his storyline that was left untouched. And while we’re at it, let’s get Kyle MacLachlan back to voice him.

3. Lazlow Jones

Lazlow is best known to GTA fans for his various radio appearances across nearly all the games, usually running a talk show that airs on one of the in-game stations. He also appeared in-person during the events of GTA V, and is played by his real-life counterpart, Lazlow Jones.

While Jones left Rockstar Games in 2020, it’d feel weird for the character to be missing from the in-game radio station when GTA VI comes out. Hopefully he’s still able to lend his voice to the character for some fresh content when the game releases later this year.

4. Jerry Kapowitz

You may not remember this character as vividly as the others on this list, but Jerry Kapowitz from GTA IV has a highly likely chance of appearing in GTA VI. In GTA IV, he’s an unhoused man who becomes the eventual finder of the lost diamonds which continuously change hands throughout the story.

Following the sale of the diamonds, Kapowitz states his plans to move down to Vice City and open a gun shop and liquor store. It’s certainly possible that we may see him, or at least a chain of his stores, during our travels throughout Vice City.

5. Elizabeta Torres

Elizabeta Torres is a well-connected drug dealer who you do several missions for during the events of GTA IV. Towards the end of the game, it’s revealed that she is eventually arrested and receives a 300-year sentence for cocaine distribution.

By the time of GTA VI, which takes place in 2026, Torres will be 18 years into her life sentence. And since we know from the first two trailers that a portion of GTA VI takes place in a women’s prison and the storyline involves drugs, it’s possible that Lucia could bump into Elizabeta while finishing her sentence.

6. Agent ULP

Agent ULP, also known as United Liberty Paper contact or simply ‘Bernard’, is an agent of the International Affairs Agency who appears in both GTA IV and GTA V, often entangling the protagonists of each game into doing dirty work for the agency.

It’d be rather apt to see Agent ULP come back again in GTA VI, completing a trio of appearances that sees him working with Jason or Lucia to do some jobs for his agency under the guise of national security.

7. Yusuf Amir

Yusuf Amir appears in GTA IV as a wealthy real estate developer from Dubai who embroils Luis into doing various tasks for him, and he appeared much later in GTA Online fulfilling the same role.

Fans of The Ballad of Gay Tony will remember Yusuf’s missions as arguably the best part of the expansion, often providing you with the most fun vehicles and weapons to use. It’d be brilliant to see him again in GTA VI, wanting to expand his real estate empire throughout Leonidas State.

8. Lester Crest

Lester is a main character appearing throughout the events of GTA V, playing the role of handler and planner for the heists carried out by the game’s three protagonists. He later appeared in GTA Online to give missions to the protagonist.

While I doubt we’d see Lester ever come back in a significant capacity, it’d be nice to see him retire and spend the rest of his days chilling on a beach in Vice City. The man went through so much stress in Los Santos, it’d be nice to see him put his feet up for once.

9. Roman Bellic

I’ve accepted that we probably won’t be seeing Niko Bellic in another Grand Theft Auto game ever again, and that’s fine. He seems to be living a comfortable life retired away from a life of crime, and I love that for him. His cousin, on the other hand? GTA IV ends with the implication that Roman’s gambling problems and other vices will continue to take a hold over his life.

I can see him moving down to Vice City to escape the debts he’s built up in Liberty City over the years, so it seems like the right time to bring him back. Bonus points if we get to go bowling with him, just for old time’s sake.

However, considering GTA IV has multiple endings, one of which involves Roman dying, I'm also left wondering if Rockstar would even dare to address this.

10. Trevor Philips

I’ll preface this by saying that I don’t think Steven Ogg would be comfortable coming back as Trevor. While he’s on record as saying he “loves Trevor”, the actor clearly wants to focus on other projects and new characters.

With that said, Ogg has also stated that he’d be willing to reprise his role as Trevor if Rockstar will kill him off, and I’m thinking that might be a great irony considering what Trevor did to previous GTA protagonist Johnny Klebitz at the beginning of GTA V.
