GTA VI fans are already roasting the number of missions that may or may not be in the highly anticipated Rockstar Games title.
The Grand Theft Auto series has always been one of the biggest open-world action games in its genre. Not just in terms of popularity, but also because of the huge maps, packed with fun activities, and GTA VI will surely be no exception.
Following months of leaks and rumours, Rockstar Games finally released the first trailer for GTA VI in December 2023 with a tentative 2025 launch window.

However, earlier this year, Rockstar Games pushed the date of GTA VI into next year, but we were also treated to its second trailer, which sent social media into a frenzy.
At this time, we can only speculate how big GTA VI will be. We know it will feature the returning Vice City, but fans will be hoping that Liberty City, the location of GTA III and more, will return.
Regardless of what locations GTA VI may or may not feature, we know it’s going to be huge, stacked with enough activities to keep us busy for months on end, and that’s not even taking into account its main story missions.
So, how many main story missions will GTA VI have? We can only speculate at this time, which is something fans on Reddit have been doing.

“How many do you think GTA VI should have, considering how long we've waited?” asked Redditor RogerRoger63358. Fellow fans have responded, but mostly in jest.

“Six VERY long missions with no checkpoints,” claimed WatchTheTimbsB.
“700 shops,” said SixtyNineFlavours.
“At least three,” joked Naz3em.
“ONE THICK MISSION,” yelled CommentFightJudge.

There were also plenty of serious suggestions, it should be said, such as “The number of missions does not indicate length, but I think 90-100 main missions,” from Gerald19901.
At the time of writing, Grand Theft Auto VI has a release date of 26 May 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
