The upcoming launch of Grand Theft Auto VI on 19 November is a concern to just about every other game in existence.
That’s because no one wants to launch in GTA VI’s shadow, and that includes Lords of the Fallen II.
This highly-anticipated sequel to 2023’s Lords of the Fallen from CI Games has decided to rethink its 2026 launch plans, having now set a revised launch window of Q1 2027.
That should see the game arrive in January, February, or March. It was CI Games’ CEO Marek Tyminski who took to Twitter/X to deliver the news.

“As development progresses, we have worked closely with the Gameplay Feedback Team, a dedicated group of seasoned soulslike veterans within our Launch Creative Team,” he began.
“Their valuable ongoing input, combined with the team’s vision, has identified meaningful opportunities to further refine and strengthen the overall experience.
“These enhancements will benefit from additional integration, iteration, and polishing time, enabling the team to deliver the highest possible quality at launch.”
In reference to GTA VI, Tyminski added, “This updated release window also strategically positions Lords of the Fallen II outside of a highly competitive holiday period, ensuring the game receives the dedicated attention it deserves.”

Lords of the Fallen II is set to deliver yet more brutal soulslike action with this latest instalment shifting over to Unreal Engine 5.
Players have been told to expect improved traversal mechanics, a brand new Japanese-inspired location, and more fluid combat.
November is typically a busy month for major releases with AAA studios vying for attention just ahead of the deadline for Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards.
So far, no AAA titles are willing to go head-to-head with GTA VI in November.
Stay up to date on the latest GTA VI updates:
In fact, only Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered and Barbie Rewind are really locked in for November launch dates.
Many other titles have shifted their release dates to September or October, with September definitely being the busiest month for games this year.
GTA VI is going to be everywhere in the months preceding launch, so it’s easy to understand studios being somewhat cautious of October too.
September is set to deliver us Orbitals, The Blood of Dawnwalker, Valheim, Screenbound, Marvel’s Wolverine, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV, Control Resonant, Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea, Hot Wheels: Infinite Rush, Silent Hill: Downfall, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and Minecraft Dungeons II.
October will then bring Valor Mortis, Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered, End of Abyss, Rayman Legends Retold, Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve, Gears of War: E-Day, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, Kingdom Hearts Collection 1-3, Silver Pines, Planet Zoo 2, Final Fantasy Resonance, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and Phantom Blade Zero.
Valor Mortis was originally down to launch in September, choosing to shift to October to better its chances but looking at those lists side by side, studios will perhaps struggle for attention in both months.
