A new GTA 6 pricing update has got fans losing their minds, as they seem convinced the game will not be as cheap as they think.
One of the biggest talking points regarding Grand Theft Auto 6 has been about what Rockstar Games will charge for the upcoming release.
With publishers constantly raising the price of games, including Nintendo pricing Mario Kart World up to £75, fears that GTA 6 could go for up to $100 at launch have become very real.
In an interview with Variety, Take-Two Interactive CEO and chairman Strauss Zelnick may have put some of those fears to rest, saying that “we’re highly focused on making sure that the experience is great, not just because the game itself is great, but also because consumers have paid a fair price for it.”

The quote is fairly vague, sure, but it does hint that GTA 6 probably won’t cost a huge bombload of cash at launch. After all, GTA 5 made most of its money from selling shark cards in the online mode anyway, so more customers buying into that market is a good thing.
However, some fans are sceptical about this, and some even do not outright believe Zelnick’s comments.

“This in no way confirms that they’re not going up to $80,” wrote one fan on the GTA 6 Reddit page.
“I hope nobody seriously believes this is generosity on their part, they'll make bank on the back end off shark cards,” another fan wrote in the same Reddit thread.
“They can PR talk all they want but I won't believe anything they say about price until I see the preorder officially on PSN,” another wrote.
Pre-orders for GTA 6 are not available yet, but if the game is still on track to release next year, it’s possible that pre-orders will go up by Christmas.
