There is no denying that Grand Theft Auto VI will be one of the biggest video game launches of all time.
If fans still queued outside stores for days on end, they would definitely do so for the arrival of Rockstar’s next Grand Theft Auto instalment, especially as it has been well over a decade since we received the last one.
With Grand Theft Auto VI expected to be released in less than a year on 26 May 2026, the countdown is in full swing and a recent report reveals that companies are already gearing up to handle the monumental launch day.
According to an interview on Mein-MMO and shared by the GTA 6 Countdown Twitter account, the “Money Guy” on Twitch has explained how the site aims to collaborate with Rockstar to make GTA VI’s launch successful for streamers.

So who is the Money Guy, you may ask?
Well this nickname refers to Mike Minton, the Chief Monetization Officer for Twitch who is in charge of everything that makes a streamer money and over recent years, this has been Grand Theft Auto V.
“I mean, GTA 5 is now, what, twelve years old? And yet it’s still huge – simply because the creators have poured so much passion into it. That has given the game a completely new lease on life,” Minton explains.
However, talk soon turned to GTA 6 and Minton was asked how much Twitch plans to invest in the upcoming content that will come along with it.

“I think it will be a wave that builds over time. That’s why we will have a long-term perspective regarding the various phases of the game from the start,” he begins.
First, the focus will be on the single-player campaign. That will be a key point. This game will likely be the biggest game of our lives, at least as we know it, and there will be a huge hype around it.
He goes on to explain that they will also implement support for the multiplayer aspect, GTA Online, which will no doubt kick off once the majority of players have completed the campaign.
“And then there’s also going to be a PC phase somewhere. They are only releasing it for consoles. So there are a lot of things and milestones in the launch of this game,” Minton continued.

“I hope for a long-lasting success for both them and us that fosters streamer and audience engagement for many, many years, just like with GTA 5. But I would say the long-term perspective is the most important.”
So it seems as though the future is looking long and prosperous for Twitch streamers following the release of Grand Theft Auto VI and it remains to be seen how this will benefit the viewers and general gaming community.
