The Grand Theft Auto series has delivered some stellar stories over the years, made great by the protagonists that star in them.

While characters like Niko Bellic and CJ will go down in history as some of the most cherished protagonists in gaming, I don’t think any of them can hold a candle to the GTA V trio: Michael, Trevor and Franklin.

If you selected the correct ending when playing GTA V, you’ll know their story is pretty much over but there’s hope that they could return in GTA VI; after all, some of them have made cameo appearances in GTA V: Online, giving us a glimpse at what they got up to after the events of their game.

Ned Luke, Steven Ogg and Shawn Fonteno, the actors who played Michael, Trevor, and Franklin respectively, recently reunited for Comic Con Brussels to talk about their experience while making the game and what the future could hold for their characters.

Unfortunately, they didn’t give too much away, and with GTA VI being set in the fictional version of Florida, I can’t imagine any of the three characters will be making a coast-to-coast trip for a mere cameo…

What we’ll probably see though are a few cheeky references to things that happened in GTA V, as it’s believed there’ll be a fully-functioning in-game news and social media system accessible from your character’s phone.

With the game’s protagonists Jason and Lucia getting up to mischief with some daring heists, you can imagine there’ll be a few nods to when a crime-spree tore its way across Los Santos, ending with a robbery of the Union Depository…

Whatever the future holds for Michael, Trevor and Franklin, it’s nice to see Ned Luke, Steven Ogg and Shawn Fonteno reunited, and still as passionate about GTA V as ever.
