GTA 6's 'map' is guaranteed to disappoint, fans agree

Is there such a thing as too big?

Grand Theft Auto VI fans can’t seem to come to a consensus on the size of the game’s map, mostly because some people believe that Rockstar Games might have made it a little too big… whereas others think it might be a little too crowded. There are two wolves inside you.

Over on the r/GTA6 subreddit, fans have been discussing a “concept” leak for GTA VI’s map, nicknamed “Gyranos”.

Now, the Gyranos map is obviously not official, but it is somewhat based in fact.

You see, the person behind the concept map actually frankenstein’d it together from information revealed in the trailers for the game and some of the info players were able to extract from leaks.

It’s obviously not going to be 100% accurate, but it is the closest thing we have to an actual map of the game. So, what do the commenters think of the whole thing?

Well, they’re either worried it’s too big (and will therefore be too barren) or it’s too small (and will therefore be too crowded).

“I'm only expecting the bottom half with Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia at a smaller scale,” commented user Vidya-Man.

“I don't think they could make enough content to make a map that large not feel empty. A lot of San Andreas in 5 was very redundant by the end. They shouldn't make a map big for just the sake of having a big map.”

“My only gripes with this map is that it feel way to small and crowded without much rural areas, and it is an island without the Georgian border at least,” replied user letsgotothegymbuddy.

My personal take is that I think it’ll be both. Frankly, I hope it’s both.

The cities on the map will likely be very crowded and probably a little overstimulating, much like real life Florida. And the less habitable parts of the map will probably be a lot more open and desolate, which also sounds like real life Florida.

I think having areas like this on the same map will be a good thing, as it’ll break up the overall experience. Sometimes I wanna hang out in a bar and play pool with my friends, and sometimes I wanna wander down to the swamps by myself and wrestle alligators… just like real life Florida.
