Everyone who is excited for Rockstar Games’ upcoming mega-hit Grand Theft Auto VI seems to be enrolled in the same clown school, because they just cannot stop themselves from repeating the same bloody joke ad nauseum on the latest trailer for the game.
In case you live under a rock, here’s a little update for you: back in May this year, following the release of Grand Theft Auto VI’s second trailer, Rockstar Games revealed that the release date for the game has been pushed back to May 26, 2026.
In hindsight, it does seem pretty obvious that a delay was coming. Rockstar Games had been keeping a little too quiet about the progress they’d made on Grand Theft Auto VI, so expecting to get our hands on it by the end of the year was a bit of a long shot.

Of course, a delay of around 6-ish months is significant enough that, unfortunately, it’s a certainty that several people won’t make it to May 2026.
That’s probably why everyone is referencing that final mission from Halo: Reach in the comments on Grand Theft Auto VI’s second trailer.
“Objective updated: survive till 2026”, commented @theRadBrad.
“Just need to survive this next year…” replied @Mullyy.

Look, it’s a shame that some folks who are excited to play GTA VI are gonna pass in between now and its release, but you know what might actually be even worse than that?
Lemme paint a scene for you: you’re on your deathbed. You’ve been unreasonably excited to play GTA VI for years, and you just want to give it a go before it’s time.
Your controller is in your hands. You’re pumped. The game has finally finished installing and… it’s a buggy, broken, unplayable mess. Then you die.
I’m just saying, I’d rather go out off the back of playing a 10/10 banger.

My condolences to anyone who’s final game was MindsEye.
