One industry analyst is pretty certain that GTA VI’s increased price won’t affect its sales at all, and they’re throwing out some massive predictions in terms of the profits it's going to rake in.

It’s been a hot-button topic over the past year, but the truth of the matter is that nobody really knows exactly how much Rockstar Games intends to charge for Grand Theft Auto VI– well, except this one guy, apparently.

Matthew Field, Senior Technology Reporter at The Telegraph, reached out to a couple of sources regarding Grand Theft Auto VI’s potential price point (and its potential profits), and one source thinks it’s going to be wildly expensive.

Michael Pachter, managing director of equity research at Wedbush Securities, had this to say about GTA VI’s price.

“I expect a $100 price point for the game,” he revealed to The Telegraph.

“The game will be immensely profitable. It will likely generate $10bn lifetime and another $500m annually from GTA Online.”

Good. Lord. $100?! What would that even translate to in British Pounds? £80, rounded up? There’s no way that ends up being the case, surely.

Louise Wooldridge, who works as a researcher at Ampere Analytics, also told The Telegraph that GTA VI is "probably the most anticipated game of all time" and that it's expected to make over one billion dollars on its release day.

Alright, well, that one I can believe. It almost definitely is the most anticipated game ever at this point, and GTA V made somewhere around $800 on its release day, so… yeah, I think GTA VI will easily clear the billion mark within 24 hours.

Still– $100?! I cannot get over this. There is absolutely no way that GTA VI drops for more than $80, surely?

I get it, people will buy it regardless, but Rockstar Games knows that their main money maker when it comes to GTA V is all of the microtransactions in GTA Online, so I somehow doubt it’ll launch at a price point as ludicrous as that.
