GTA 6 leaked screenshot shows massive visual improvement over Red Dead Redemption 2

Rockstar has really stepped up its graphics game with GTA 6

December is imminent, which means very soon some of our GTA VI questions will be answered. I say “some” because there’s no way Rockstar Games is going to reveal everything to us in one go. Not after teasing us and stringing us along for so many years.

But even without the trailer as confirmation, it looks like GTA VI is shaping up to be a massive visual improvement when compared with Red Dead Redemption 2. We all know that the gritty world of Arthur Morgan is still an unrivalled “masterpiece” five years later, so for GTA VI to build upon that and surpass it is exciting.

If you need to remind yourselves how good Red Dead Redemption 2 looks, here's some wins and fails.

One Twitter user tried to show this via a series of comparisons, using a screenshot from GTA V, RDR 2 and leaked footage of GTA VI. Unfortunately, that post is currently unavailable, perhaps deleted by the poster or ordered to be taken down – whatever the reason, the nighttime side-by-side comparison is gone.

Still, I can attest it did indeed look great, and it makes sense that GTA VI is a visual step up from RDR 2. This isn’t just because hidden details have been spotted in leaked footage that exceed the detailed pixels of horse testicles in RDR 2, but because graphics have moved on considerably.

After all, it’s been a decade since GTA V was released, with technology having come a long way in those 10 years; if the new instalment doesn’t reflect this, it would be a poor show from Rockstar. One we’re confident fans would complain about.

With further rumours now speculating that an announcement will be made on 3 December, it shouldn’t be long before we have tangible proof of how outstanding the graphics truly are. We just hope this won’t be a case of a trailer being teased and then something else drops as some fans believe.
