GTA VI gamers are preparing for “one last drive” around the Los Santos map, as they count down the days for the big launch day.
When it comes to immersive open worlds, Rockstar Games knows how to cook something special, whether it's Red Dead Redemption or Grand Theft Auto. These open worlds are immersive in many ways, whether it’s due to the stunning visuals, fun missions, interesting NPCs and so forth.
However, perhaps the largest aspect of immersion with Rockstar Games' open worlds is simply exploring the map with no consideration of what main missions or side objectives you should be completing to progress a story.
For example, whether it’s playing as John Marston or Arthur Morgan in the Red Dead Redemption series, I think we’ve all explored at a slow pace on horseback, marvelling at the incredible Wild West world wonderfully crafted by Rockstar Games.

Similar to the Grand Theft Auto series, we all know we’ve done it. We’ve taken a relaxing drive across maps like Liberty City, Vice City and Los Santos, driving at the speed limit and stopping at traffic lights. We have all done it, right?
“No traffic violations either, I’m an upstanding citizen,” tweeted hoodii30, sharing a post from Vexx that reads “The night before GTA VI releases. One last drive.”
“I may have to join in on this. I remember being there the night GTA V released, it's only right,” replied Justsoyouknowkz.
“Then once that drive is done, jump in a plane and just fly out into the sunset,” added BobSege4051519.
“Think I’ll buy a vintage car that’s slow. Stock, no mods. Original parts. Drive slowly and take it all in one last time,” suggested Malumetbose.
“And to think about it, THIS map was huge at that time for the game. Imagine the sheer size of the GTA VI map,” said realChuckWagonx, making an interesting point.
Right now, only the location of Vice City has been confirmed, as showcased in the two GTA VI trailers. Rumours have claimed that the GTA VI map will be the biggest in the series, but only time will tell whether that will be the case.
Assuming GTA VI suffers no further delay, it’s currently scheduled to be released on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Most likely. While the PC port of GTA VI hasn't been officially announced yet, typically, Rockstar Games releases its titles on PC roughly a year after consoles. We’ll keep you posted when that inevitable announcement is made.
