GTA 6 2026 release date update is sending fans over the edge

GTA VI fans are having their patience tested by an announcement that the game could be delayed into 2026.

Industry veteran and insider Jason Schreier took to social media to claim, “I would be shocked if it actually made it next year”, referencing that Rockstar Games is well known for delaying their games.

At this point, I'm just begging for another trailer for GTA VI.

Of course, this made its way to Reddit, where fans reacted badly.

Remember, this is speculation and rumour, and while Jason has been right in the past, it doesn’t mean the game is delayed yet.

“Can you imagine waiting until the end of 2026? Haha, it will be a pain. The people of this sub will go crazier,” said the top reply from Bright_Sir_8783.

GTA VI is the industry’s most anticipated game, and it will likely win that award tonight at The Game Awards.

“Trailer 2 drops next week, ends with 'Coming fall 2026'. Sub implodes,” comments Watching-You-All.

We’ve had nothing but weeks, months, years, of hype and commentary from die-hard fans.

All eyes have been pointing to the latter half of 2025 when the game is supposed to be released. Fans can’t take the teasing anymore.

Thankfully, some are seeing sense and being rational.

“He's stating an opinion, not a fact or insider information. He's basing this off of previous releases,” says one fan.

While another commented, “He's just expressing a personal opinion. Not reporting a fact.”

Of course, there’s the other side of the coin, where only worry and concern exists.

“He's the most reliable source when it comes to Rockstar Games so him saying that makes my mind shift from, 'Maybe there will be a delay,' to, 'Very likely to be delayed,'" explained InvestigatorDue7765.

For now, take this with a pinch of salt. For all we know, Rockstar Games comes out at The Game Awards with a second trailer and a firm release date for preorders.
