Google Stadia Is Finally Getting A Feature People Might Actually Like

Google Stadia is rolling out a brand new feature right now, and it's actually pretty decent.

Google Stadia just hasn’t had the greatest of times, has it? I’m sure there are people out there enjoying what Stadia has to offer but I can’t say it’s the hottest property on the block. Previously, Google confirmed that they’re “working really hard” on the future of Stadia but we’re yet to see what that future looks like. Well, Stadia is finally getting a feature that fans might actually be pleased with.

In case you missed it, check out Google’s Stadia reveal video below. Warning: It’s dramatic.

Google Stadia have introduced a new party stream feature that allows you to broadcast your playthrough with your friends. You can invite up to nine friends to your stream and what’s even better, is that everyone can get involved. Your friends can offer helpful (or perhaps not so helpful, depending on the friends) advice via voice/text. Nice.

Announcing the news on Twitter, Stadia wrote, “Did somebody say party stream? Whether you’re hosting the party or bringing the (virtual) snacks, party stream allows you to stream games with up to 10 people, who can check out the gameplay action and participate via voice/text!” The update is due to be rolled out imminently so Stadia owners should start seeing the party stream option appear soon.

It’s not the most original of features but it’s certainly a welcomed addition nonetheless. Did you know that The Quarry was almost a Google Stadia exclusive? The project was shopped around after Google reportedly ended their involvement due to disappointing subscription figures. Maybe this is the start of the Stadia renaissance.
